Pre-Instagram photo-stories: the New York diary
This series has been an attempt to make sense - in the simplest and cheapest way - of my ordinary daily chaos made of obligations (work, transportation, chores...), thoughts, moods, feelings, and insignificant/significant encounters and events. The micro-stories within the everyday no-story. It follows the basic and "universal" 5 parts narrative structure: 1. Exposition 2. Rising action (trigger) 3. Actions and climax 4. Resolution 5. Final situation Or something like that. I certainly could (“should”, even) egg some postmodernist art lingo-ish statement (trivial life as a stage, the void and the story building, the meaning of the almost nothing...) but f*** it! Tell whatever you want, all blah blahs obliterate the art core: you spread crumbs, viewers eat them their way. Our everyday journey, the daily work of our soul. I don’t "really" know what’s there. But there’s something. The New York diary @2002 & @2008-2009. Motorola Razr V3 & iPhone 4. To be printed and sold like toilet paper rolls. By the meter.
